About

Arcadia Street is a showcase for original illustrations, animations and photography by Walter B. Myers. The illustrations and animations endeavor to present scientifically accurate scenes from the Earth and worlds beyond.

Artist's Statement

In creating these images of the Earth and other worlds, I try to adhere as closely as possible to what is known about these environments, while at the same time making something nice to look at. My goal is to, at the very least, recreate an impression of what a human visitor to one of these exotic worlds or eras would experience, if not actually see.

The space art images attempt to capture the essence of space as wilderness; the many and varied worlds beyond the Earth are pristine examples of the sublimity and elegance of nature’s laws. The fact that we can draw pleasure from this aesthetic serves to remind us of our intimate connection to the universe around us.
